I discovered this charming tearoom when my friends decided to throw a birthday tea for their mom who turned 70 this year. It was my first experience of the ritual of high tea and now I know what I was missing! The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, the walls are hung with colourful paintings and quilts to gaze at as you savour your tea; and to add to it all, local artists' works are showcased and all the shelves are covered with an eclectic and fascinating collection of regular tea accessories and 'must haves' which you didn't even realize you had to have. The food was of an enticing variety (particular mention must be made of the chicken salad sandwiches and the perfect pairing of scones and tea types). The service was very personal, the owner and her staff very friendly, and my cup was always full -- literally. In between conversations, we could even go downstairs where there is an interesting antique shop! Everyone had a wonderful time, especially the celebrant who was so overwhelmed she could hardly speak when called to address her friends and family. This is a wonderful venue for creating special memories.

This tea shop is lovely, as is the hostess. The atmosphere, with low background music, is so conducive to an enjoyable lunch and quiet conversation with friends. Her tea sandwiches are often both traditional and unique, but always tasty. Tea selections are excellent. The gifts are fun to browse. Definitely a shop to frequent!- Sandie

Is Manhattan too far for you to go for high tea? Look no further. The answer is tea & tiques in Huntington, NY. It has Manhattan flair with affordable prices. There teas are exquisite and the tea sandwiches are delicious. I personally love the strawberry scones. This tea room is a wonderful place to meet friends or even have a business lunch. For those who miss Ms. Havisham's you won't be disappointed in its replacement. My mom and I went and the decor was lovely, modern but cozy. The afternoon tea service was fun and a delightful presentation - everything was delicious! Everyone there was friendly and the tea blends offered were unique - we both enjoyed ours! Definitely a place to go for tea lovers!

The perfect place to meet with your good friends for long afternoon talks never feeling rushed. The atmosphere is perfect for quaint luncheons, bridal or baby showers. The owner will accommodate almost any type of function she can. The owner is very friendly, quite creative, and makes your event have that extra special touch.

I'd been to the same location when it was Miss Havisham's, and I must say that I'm delighted with the change! Every detail has been carefully thought out, and the teas are WONDERFUL. I had my first Rooibus and loved it. My sister and I are real tea freaks -- even going to London for a weekend simply for tea -- so we are thrilled to have this tea room (fairly) nearby. The owner is friendly and knowledgable, and the decor is warm without being stuffy and frilly. The antique collection is small and miscellaneous, and the seating is a bit too high for the tables, but these are minor complaints. Please go -- let's keep Tea&Tiques around!

This was the perfect spot for our three generations--my mother, sister, and her daughter--to have a memorable day together as we live far from each other. My niece suggested high tea and this was ideal; the food, service, and environment were excellent. In fact by the end of our tea time, we had become acquainted with the other people dining there--truly a warm and intimate ambience. Highly recommended!

What a great place, although not on the main street in Huntington .. but worth the walk south on New York Avenue. More than 20 different teas and great little sandwiches. The desserts are great and the scones are the best I've had. The ambience is just beautiful, the music quietly relaxing. The owner is very friendly and will share her experiences in opening the shop having left a corporate job. Great place for parties...and I just attended an opening reception for two local photographers. The walls are full of their art (for sale!) and it warms up the atmosphere even more. Beautiful red walls and pale blue beadboard ... makes for quite a relaxing afternoon. Highly recommend it.

Although I live in LA, my mom threw me a small baby shower (both guys and girls were invited) for me back home (Long Island). Tea and Tiques was the perfect spot to spend the afternoon celebrating the pending arrival of our baby! The food was excellent, particularly the chicken salad sandwiches and lemon bars and the owner/wait staff were very friendly. As for tea, I recommend the decaf Tibetan Tiger. I even took some home with me! I also like the atmosphere: cozy tea house coupled with an antiques shop downstairs and a selection of tea-related gifts on display in the front. Highly recommended!

Not many tea rooms around this area, but this is a great find. Saw their article in LI w oman Survival Guide and met the owner. Brave lady and really personable. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
